Agadir Oufella kasbah and cable car
On the hill above the bay, the old kasbah’s walls give the best view of Agadir, especially at sunset. A cable car links downtown Agadir to the kasbah (Le360); you can also go up by taxi.
The beach, the promenade and the Marina
Walk the long sandy bay along the promenade up to the Marina at the north end: boats, restaurants and café terraces. Details in our guide to Agadir beaches.
Souk El Had
One of Morocco’s biggest markets: fruit and vegetables, spices, crafts and clothes across hundreds of stalls. Allow a morning and haggle with a smile. It’s also where residents of Hay Mohammadi do their big shop.
Crocoparc
A crocodile park with botanical gardens east of the city, reached by car or taxi. Popular with families.
Valley of the Birds
A small, free park in the city centre with aviaries and play areas: a shady break between the beach and downtown.
Paradise Valley
A palm-lined valley with natural pools in the Atlas foothills, about an hour’s drive from Agadir. Leave early, with a rental car or on an organised trip. More ideas: day trips from Agadir.
Taghazout and the north coast
Morocco’s best-known surf village is about 20 km north. See our guide Agadir to Taghazout.
Where to stay to see it all
Our apartment in Hay Mohammadi has free parking, handy for exploring by car. See our Agadir holiday rental, and the airport guide for renting a car on arrival.
